Film & Media Curatorial

Our Story
Cultural Images specializes in the curation of Black film and media for educational and cultural institutions. We seek to expand the world’s knowledge and appreciation of the visual arts of the Black diaspora through exhibition. Our mission is grounded in the work of film and media scholars, educators, and artists who embrace the diversity of Black creative thought and expression.
What We Do
Our interest lies in the aesthetics and meaning of the content we show in relationship to the immediate and/or larger cultural environment. From developing a film series to managing a single event, we curate in context. As such, we design film and media events – taking on traditional and nontraditional projects that center emerging and established film and media artists from the Black diaspora. While our focus is on film and media, we are also open to experimentation to educate and engage audiences. From early Black cinema to more contemporary works of art, we create exhibitions and provide educational resources tailored to your needs.
